In order to cooperate with the implementation of the national standards strategy and accelerate the pace of formulating group standards for the Chinese Society for Materials Research, the Standards and Certification Working   Committee of the Chinese Society for Materials Research held a kickoff meeting for four group standard projects, including "Aluminum Alloy Powder for Additive Manufacturing", in Beijing on July 26, 2023. Li Ning, Deputy Director of the Standardization Committee, delivered a speech and announced the start of the project. Secretary General Liu Yi presided over the meeting and made a summary. Representatives of the project organization unit, preparation unit, and standard project expert group attended the meeting on-site in Beijing, while other personnel and members of the Society's Standardization Committee participated online. The total number of attendees was about 50.

Deputy Director Li Ning first introduced the overview of the society and its qualifications for national group standard formulation and issuance, as well as the establishment of a standards and certification committee, as well as the recent progress in group standard formulation. Require relevant units responsible for drafting standards to strictly control standards, strengthen organizational coordination, and widely listen to opinions. Ensure high-quality and timely completion of standard preparation work. At the same time, we welcome members of the Society's Standardization Committee to actively participate in project consultation and provide more group standard preparation needs based on their own business areas. Subsequently, four project leaders, CRRC Industrial Research Institute Co., Ltd., Western Superconducting Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and China Academy of Railway Sciences, respectively reported on the preliminary situation of various group standards such as "Aluminum Alloy Powder for Additive Manufacturing", "Technical Specification for Titanium Alloy Induction Melting Special Ceramic Crucible", "Magnesium Diborate Superconducting Wire", and "Polyurethane Vibration Isolation Cushion for Prefabricated Ballastless Track" Technical content and next development plan.

From Northwest Nonferrous Metals Research Institute, Harbin Institute of Technology, CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., Youyan Powder New Material Co., Ltd., Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Silicate Research Institute, China National Machinery Corporation Shenyang Foundry Research Institute Co., Ltd., Chinese Academy of Sciences Electrical Research Institute, Beijing Jiaotong University, China Electric Power Research Institute, Shanghai Jiaotong University, CSIC 725 Research Institute Experts from Sichuan University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and China Railway Engineering Design Consulting Group Co., Ltd. carefully listened to the reports of various project units, discussed the project, and put forward suggestions and opinions.
In the summary of the meeting, Secretary General Liu Yi announced the next steps in formulating work procedures and plans. Given that the preliminary work of the four standards is relatively solid and the draft is relatively mature, in order to meet the development needs of new materials in a timely manner, it is recommended to strive to complete the four group standards before the Spring Festival of 2024.

In the afternoon, the first working meeting of the project "Polyurethane Vibration Isolation Cushion for Prefabricated Slab Ballastless Track" continued, and discussions were conducted on specific group standard drafts to improve and modify them.
